Day 1 to Murchison Falls National Park: The 15 day Wildlife Safari in Uganda Begins. Often time safaris begin from the airport although this depends on the time of your arrival. If you arrive late in the evening, you book a hotel or lodge in Kampala. Very early in the morning we have breakfast and drive off to Murchison Falls National Park located in the northern part of Uganda. The luxuriant countryside will surprise you with the evergreen vegetation dominating the country. The journey is quite interesting with so much to see, remember the vehicle can be stopped at any time in case you want to take photos or give a keen look at the feature you will see along the way. We arrive in Masindi and have lunch at Masindi Hotel, Its a prominent oldest hotel in Uganda that was established in 1923.Among the guests that visited this hotel included Ernest Hemingway, Humphrey Bogart as well as Kathryn Hepburn. You will delight in the history of this hotel as you eat your delicious lunch.
We get in the vehicle and our next stop over destination is at the top of the falls in the park. This nature wonder is breathtaking and an experience for lifetime. Sir Samuel Baker and the wife had the opportunity to name the falls in 1864 and later on the president of that time called Idi Amin renamed them to Kabalega Falls. This didn’t sound well to the local people and so they continued to call it Murchison Falls National Park, one of the famous parks in Uganda.
As you enjoy the magnificent view of the falls, the ground will be shaking by the too much power of the Nile. The river is 50 meters wide, flowing down 46 meters through a 7 meter gorge directly into Lake Albert. Lonely Plant refers to it as the most powerful natural fall in the world. Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park: A lovely breakfast and cross the Nile by ferry as we head out for our early morning game drive. This is the time to see the early risers and those retiring to go to sleep. Make sure your camera is fully charged because this is the time for great adventure in Murchison, well known to have various kinds of wildlife. Among the animals to see include antelopes, Uganda Kob, Waterbucks,warthogs,leopards,giraffes, buffaloes,elephants,lions and the migratory birds from Europe. The drive takes about 2 to3 hours in search of animals, return to your lodge for lunch and rest.
In the afternoon, we get ready for the boat cruise on the Nile up to the bottom of the Falls. Right away you will see lots of animals such as crocodiles basking in the sun, hippos chilling in water, elephants and buffaloes coming for water, bird species and others seen at a distance grazing. The cruise takes about 3 hours of great fun as well as taking memorable photos. Return to your lodge have dinner and rest.
Day 3: Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest: Have an exquisite breakfast and check out of the lodge. We drive off to Kibale National Park for an adventurous moment with the primates. The park is surrounded by the rainforest and is a home to over 13 species of primates. A wonderful drive through the countryside, you will notice the landscape change many times in a spectacular way and the Rwenzori Mountains will be seen at a distance. Have lunch in Hoima.We arrive and check in to your desired lodge. Some are located in the heart of the forest and the rest surrounding the park. These range from super luxury, luxury, moderate and budget.Whichever you choose, you will feel closer to the wilderness. Have dinner at your lodge.
The evening is set for a nocturnal walk in the forest which is optional, you will see animals that can’t be seen during the day and these are potto, bush babies and other animals that move in the forest at night. You may fail to take good pictures but the moment with these creatures is memorable and worth your safari. Return to your lodge and rest.

Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park: A beautiful morning breakfast and prepare for a full day adventure with the primates. With the help of the ranger, we head out to track the chimpanzees. Along the way we will see other primates like Red tailed monkey, Red Colobus Monkey, Black and White Monkey, L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Baboons, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, abundant species of birds and wildlife in the forest. It’s a home to thousands of butterflies that will follow you as you walk around the forest. Catching a glance at the chimpanzees will be amazing; they will make you laugh as they play and care about their young ones. Return to your lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon we proceed to Bigodi Swamp Wetland, it’s a home to over 136 kinds of bird species discovered in polita figs, wild palms and papyrus. You will still see several monkeys and the rare sitaunga antelope. You may as well spot some chimpanzees moving around. Return to your lodge for dinner and have a wonderful rest.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park: Have an early morning breakfast and drive off to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It’s a four hours drive with a beautiful countryside. We arrive and check in to your desired lodge and have lunch. Many lodges are surrounding the park and some are in the heart of the jungle. These range from super luxury, luxury, moderate and budget. You will see animals move around the park as you dine.
In the afternoon, we are off for the boat cruise on Kazinga Channel; the channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward. As you enjoy your ride, you will see large concentration of hippos thrashing the water, crocodiles basking in the sun, elephants and buffaloes coming for water, and a thousand of birds making their sound in the wilderness. What an adventurous welcome to the park? Return to your lodge for dinner.
In the evening we prepare for the nocturnal drive which is optional, this is the chance you have to see animals that move at night. You will be guided by a ranger who will take you to all corners not to miss seeing Hyenas, Leopards, nocturnal birds and Lions. You may fail to take good pictures but the memories will always ring to mind. Return to your lodge and rest.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth Park: A lovely morning breakfast and we proceed for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge. We shall get a chance to see large population of chimpanzees that live in Maramagambo forest in Queen Elizabeth National Park. However Kyambura Gorge has habituated chimpanzees that can be easily spotted. Other primates that you will see include Olive Baboons, Vervet Monkeys, Black and White Colobus Monkeys as well as Red tailed Monkeys. Kyambura is also a home to many bird species and the commonly seen birds include Blue Bellied Kingfisher and Black Bee Eater and many others. After tracking the chimpanzees, return to your lodge and relax.
In the afternoon, we head out for the game drive. You will still see animals in the park, many of them surrounding the magnificent crater lakes. You will take great pictures that will remind you of a wonderful time you had in the park. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth Park: Right after our breakfast, we check out of the lodge and proceed to Ishasha Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will surely enjoy the beautiful scenery of the park. We arrive and check in to your desired lodge. You will see animals roaming around the park and elephants coming at your doorstep, an amazing experience. Prior to lunch, we set off for the midday game drive to see the tree climbing lions. They are often time resting in trees to avoid the hot sun and the bugs on the ground. You will see many lions and their young ones and this will be adventurous for your safari. Have lunch at your lodge and rest. Late in the afternoon, we are off for the second game drive across the plains of Ishasha.At this point we will see animals like leopards, buffaloes, large numbers of elephants, Lions, Antelopes and many others. Return to your lodge for dinner and have a wonderful night.
Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest: An exquisite morning breakfast and check out of the lodge. We say bye to Ishasha plains and drive off to Bwindi Forest. The journey is amazing with the ever green vegetation. As you get closer to Kabale, you will see many hills, valleys and people cultivating. We arrive and check in to your desired lodge, these ranges from super luxury, luxury, moderate and budget. Whichever you choose, you will enjoy a wonderful view of the impenetrable forest. Have lunch and off for a three hour guided Munyaga Waterfall trail, you will see many primates, bird species and butterflies on the trail along the river. Return to your lodge for dinner and prepare for the great day tomorrow of gorilla tracking.

Day 9: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest: Tracking the gorillas is a lifetime experience, have breakfast and proceed to the park’s headquarters for an orientation about the gorillas. You will be split into groups according to the one assigned to you. Bwindi has 9 gorilla families and these include Rushegura, Kyaguriro, Oruzogo, Habinyanja, Nshongi, Bitukura, Mubare, Nkuringo as well as Kahungye. Tracking the gorillas takes about 8 hours or less depending on where they were the previous day. As you hike the forest, you will see many primates, bird species, butterflies, fauna and flora. Some level of physical fitness is required and just in case you get tired, porters to carry you can be hired at a fee. Coming face to face with the gorillas will be amazing, you will see them do their daily routine work such as playing, resting and the mothers feeding their younger ones.Children below the age of 15 years are not allowed to track the gorillas. Elderly people that may wish to see the gorillas before they die can track the Rushegura group; these are easily accessible around the forest. After tracking, return to the headquarters.
Depending on the time, you may set off for the village walk. This includes visiting the Batwa people known as the pygmies that dwell around the forest. You will surely enjoy their traditional ways as you visit the women craft shops, community school and their traditional healer. Men, Women and Kids will entertain you with their traditional dances and sing as well. Return to your lodge for dinner and reflect on the wonderful day you had with the gorillas.
Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi: Have a wonderful breakfast and check out of the lodge. We drive off to the most magnificent lake in the world. It’s acknowledged to be the second deepest lake in Africa. Its surrounding is more like a picture postcard. Lonely planet refers to it as a sight out of the lord of the Rings. We arrive and check in to your desired lodge and have lunch. Whichever lodge you choose, you will have an amazing view of the lake. Among the activities done include swimming in the water free Biliharzia, Canoeing in the lake, exploring the Islands, birdwatching and nature walk along the shores. Return to your lodge for dinner and have a wonderful night.

Day 11 – Lake Bunyonyi and Mgahinga Gorilla Park: An early morning breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi and take a morning nature walk along the lake. You will enjoy a cool breeze along with the many islands that surround the lake. Hills will be spotted at a distance while the local people cultivate the land. Return to the lodge and check out. We drive off to Mgahinga Gorilla Park; you will enjoy the surrounding scenery. Mount Gahinga Lodge is located in the shadows of the volcanoes; we check in and have our delicious lunch. Lonely Planet describes it as a beautiful spot at the foot of the Volcanoes. Relax for some time and head out for the hike with a guide.

Day 12 – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park: An early morning breakfast and proceed to Mgahinga Gorilla Park. The area is bordered by both inactive and active Volcanoes; however the big part is occupied by Inactive Volcanoes. Today, you get the opportunity to see the Golden Monkeys as you hike through the bamboo zone. You will be escorted by a ranger who will take you to the best spot where they are easily seen. Tracking the golden monkeys is an awesome experience worth to remember on your safari. As you hike, you will come along other primates, bird species, butterflies, fauna and flora. After an adventurous time with the golden monkeys, return to your lodge for lunch and set off for the community walk to see the Batwa people. You will enjoy their traditional ways and cultural values. They will entertain you with their dance and sing as well. You will visit the Garama cave, one of the amazing area not to miss out. It’s a place where the Batwa people lived and now it’s occupied by bats and fascinating to visit. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 13 – Lake Mburo Park: Have breakfast and check out of the lodge. Drive off to Lake Mburo National Park, a lovely place where to break the journey after visiting many parks in Uganda. We arrive and check in to your desired lodge. Have lunch as you enjoy animals like zebras, antelopes, Uganda kob and warthogs roam around the lodge vicinity.
In the afternoon, we are off for the boat cruise on the lake. You will still see hippos thrashing the water, crocodiles basking in the sun, buffaloes, Zebras, waterbucks, Eland and various bird species like Bush Shrike, African Fin Foot and many others. Lake Mburo is a prolongation of the Tanzania plains in Uganda along with its savannah scattered with acacia trees. The park is well known to be a home to large numbers of zebras and the common primates seen include baboons and vervet monkeys. Have dinner at your lodge and rest.

Day 14: Lake Mburo: An early morning breakfast and set off for the game drive. You will see the early risers and those retiring to go to sleep. You will catch a glance at animals like antelopes, elands, buffaloes, Uganda Kob, waterbucks, warthogs and many others. You may opt for a horseback safari; this will give you a chance to see animals at a close range as you roll through the plains of the lake and hills. Return to your lodge for lunch and check out of the lodge. We set off for Kampala, we stop at the Equator to visit craft shops and take photos. The next one is at Buganda Royal Drum Makers, you may buy for yourself a souvenir that will remind you of an amazing safari you had in Uganda.
We arrive in Kampala and check in to your hotel. If you have a flight, you continue to Entebbe Airport and say bye to the pearl of Africa. Depending on the time you have in Kampala, you may opt for nightlife where the party never ends. You will dance to the African music, drink and make friends since Ugandans are known to be hospitable people. Our guide will be available to drive you back to your Hotel. This will surely mark the end of your safari in Uganda.
Day 15: Leave For Entebbe: An exquisite breakfast at your hotel and drive off to Entebbe Airport for your flight back home. You will definitely Miss Uganda but the pictures taken on your safari will remind you of the great fun you had with wildlife and nature at its best.
